Troubleshooting Browser and Loading Problems

1. When I click a GameLink nothing happens.

This problem is likely a result of not having your browsers set to accept cookies. Some browser will work without being set to accept cookies, however every system configuration can be somewhat unique.

The solution for IE browsers is to lower the security setting to medium. This is done by clicking Tools on the browsers menu bar and clicking Internet Options at the bottom of the pull down menu that appears. A new window appears with several tabs. Click the Security tab to see its settings. Lower the slider bar to the medium setting.

While you're at it you should also check to make sure that Java is enabled. In the same window click on the Advanced tab to see its settings. Use the scroll bar to move down the list until the Microsoft VM heading appears. Underneath this heading should be three check boxes. Click JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled if it is not already checked to enable it.

To activate both the Security and Java settings click OK at the bottom of the Internet Options window. Then restart the browser. You do not need to go offline nor reboot you computer.

Then navigate to the GameLink page with the games you wish to watch and click a link to load a game into GameTracker's Receiver.

2. GameTracker's Receiver loads but with a blank 3D Arena window.

This problem is a result of a bug in Microsofts VM version 5.0.0.3167. You will note this is the same version number that appears at the top of the Java Console when you open it on your system.

The solution to this problem is to upgrade to a new version of the Microsoft VM. Use the link below to access the upgrade for Microsoft Virtual Machine for Internet Explorer: http://www.microsoft.com/java/vm/dl_vm40.htm

Please read and follow Microsoft's installation instructions carefully. When you have the upgrade installed you should be able to return to any GameLink page and click a link to watch all the action on GameTracker.

3. The player photos do not always appear during the webcast.

Event webcasters are at times working under very tight time schedules and they do not always get the player photos uploaded until after the game starts. As a result you may need to reload GameTracker later in the game to download and see the player photos. To reload the Receiver simply click the GameTracker link for the game you are watching.

4. What are all the buttons and messages on the GameTracker Receiver for?
